Vulnerable share π
After 10 years of nomadic living I finally felt the call to put roots down in ancestral Ecuador.
A few weeks ago I bought a car to aid in my projects and visions here, but within a week my new spaceship melted mid road-trip. I was obviously devastated and despaired when the mechanics quoted me over $5k for engine repairs.
I’ve been saving up to build an off-grid fairy cabin and start a regenerative herb farm. This new expense is a bit crippling to these plans.
So I am humbly seeking the support of my sweet tender community to help me cover the costs to repair my car and get back on my feet.
In return I offer songs, herbal medicines, and even free wellness consultations for those that choose to share abundance with me in this time of need.
Ever grateful to you all π₯Ή

Did you know that I was a mermaid gardener?! And you can be too?! ππ§πΌβοΈπ
Last year I spent a month living on the island of Cozumel in Mexico and worked to regenerate coral reefs with marine biologist Dr German Mendez of @cozumelcoralreefrestoration .
It was ridiculously fun and educational and rewarding, as well as eye opening.
Dr German explained how much damage the rampant and rapid development of the small island has devastated their once flourishing coral reefs. The main perpetrator of destruction have been the cruise ships that bombard the island in the thousands each year.
Currently, a fourth dock for cruise ships has been planned for construction right beside this coral nursery, which would undo all the hard work that Cozumel Coral Restoration has done to regenerate the marine ecosystem.
The initiative against this disastrous dock, @noalcuartomuelle (“No to the fourth dock”) is asking for more visibility on this issue internationally. Share this story or some of theirs if you care to π
And if you wanna have a lovely vacation in a beautiful place, rather than taking a cruise, consider spending some time in a place to reduce your footprint, and see where you can volunteer locally to give back. Dm @cozumelcoralreefrestoration if you’re interested in volunteering or donating to the project
Gracias!!

Oyster mushrooms!!
Sometimes I feel like mushrooms are looking for me. Especially when I’m not necessarily even looking for them. It’s like the more you eat mushrooms and think about them you become a walking branch of their Mycelial network and so naturally you communicate with other fungi.
Oyster mushrooms are a great shroom to learn when first venturing into foraging because they are pretty unmistakable!
And so delicious.
I made this baby the centerpiece of tonight’s vegan gf pizza π
I took home a piece of the inoculated log with some baby oysters growing on it and I will attempt to propagate more in the yard!!
Viva el hongo ππ€β€οΈ

It finally happened. 4 weeks ago I handed over the keys to my beeloved home on wheels, Nube π βοΈ
I never thought it’d be possible to feel so much affection for a vehicle. But she was my sanctuary, my safe place no matter where I wandered. She kept me warm and so well nourished and her girth reflected the size of her heart! Her spaciousness allowed me to carry more than I ever needed so that I could share abundance and warmth with those whose paths we crossed. She allowed us to distribute hundreds of pounds of dumpster dived chocolate, and to deliver thousands of pounds of food and herbal medicine donations to the refugees on the Tijuana border.
She was home to dance parties, sleepovers, potion crafting, nourishment and rest, and so many lively ferments π€ͺ
Nubecita was not only my witch cave but also the home of my familiar.. my dear kitty companion Luz. In this transition I’ve also had to pass sweet Luz on to a trusted sister π₯Ί
The day I handed over Nube I drove off so light in the car of a new love with whom I imagined starting a new chapter. Yesterday I also had to say goodbye for good to that love.
One week ago my Charango, my musical companion, shattered in front of me as well.
So many releases. My heart is so tender.
Yet I have no choice but to trust in the good things coming to me for which I have just made so much space.
Calling in home and sanctuary and ever expanding love π
Here’s to new beginnings.

There are stories and sustenance and medicine in the algae of the sea! Eat what the mermaids do and you will bee slick as a seal π¦π€
Seaweed is rich in nutrients such as vitamins A, B complex, C, D, E and K. It also contains vital amino acids and minerals like iodine, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, zinc and manganese.
It’s demulcent nature (meaning it’s slippery, soothing, nourishing) promotes healthy mucus membranes, supporting overall well-being, especially where those membranes really matter: the brain, throat, lungs, and digestive tract.
Seaweed is an awesome gateway into foraging wild edibles because there is no known poisonous seaweed. (Note, seaweed is different than toxic algae blooms which sometimes occur). Make sure you’re harvesting from clean waters far from industrial areas π
Some of my foraging highlights:
Bladderwrack ~ amazing thyroid booster for hypothyroid states, rich in beta carotene which when eaten with fat converts to vitamin A which supports healthy vision π
Gigartina ~ powerful antiviral, esp against the rona
Sea lettuce ~ yummy raw in fresh salad with cucumber and sesame
Rainbow leaf ~ literally glows iridescent rainbows in the water π
You can really throw seaweed in anything you’re cooking and it will instantly have more complex flavor and medicinal value. I love blending dried seaweed into salt with toasted sesame seeds (gomasio), cutting it into strips for noodles, making it into wild fermented yummy beverage potions, or throwing it into the pot to amp up veggie broths and make beans more digestible! Oh and if you wanna go to the sirena spa: grind it up and add it to clay face masks, hot baths, and rose witch hazel facial toner π§βοΈ π§βοΈ
Seaweed has improved my quality of life and enriched (and bewitched) my beach-going excursions. Get out there and nibble some nalgas!
In the photos you sea the rich variety of colors and textures found and in the last photos my beachside lunch of coconut mushroom seaweed noodle soup π π πΏ

A sweet and sana (healthy) birthday gift to a fellow cancer crab brother π¦ βοΈ π
The sweetest part was gathering the carrots and flowers from his garden.
I went into the garden and asked “Who wants to bee part of a celebration of sweet Pete, the beeing who planted you and waters and tends you?!” And I immediately felt the flowers so joyful to lend themselves to the celebration.
Living such a nomadic life, I don’t get to watch my seeds grow so I am always SO grateful to get to play in the gardens of my deer friends β€οΈπΊπΉπ»πΌπ
